The Walking Dead Tops December Graphic Novel Sales

The Walking Dead dominated graphic novel bookstore sales in December, according to the Nelsen BookScan numbers published at ICv2. The Walking Dead Compendium 1 took the top spot. The series took the top four spots and had a total of eight showings in the top 20. Image Comics had one additional title in the top 20, Saga Vol. 1 by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples at number 18. DC Comics also a a strong sales month, with five Batman graphic novels in the top 20 - Three from Scott Snyder's New 52 run, as well as the evergreen classics The Dark Knight Returns and The Killing Joke. Also making a showing in the top 20: the first volume of The Sandman, the latest collection of Dark Horse's Avatar: The Last Airbender series, the manga Attack on Titan and Naruto, and Tim Leong's Super Graphic: A Visual Guide to the Comic Book Universe.
