Gale Anne Hurd and Spike TV are both expanding their scripted television horizons.
Hurd, producer of AMC's The Walking Dead, will be adapting Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child's best-selling book series Relic and Cabinet of Curiosities for a scripted series titled Pandergast on Spike.
The series will follow a special FBI agent, whom the show is named after, and is set in a contemporary New York City. Pendergast will invesigate a present day crime mimicking a century-old mystery which links to his own family's dark past.
Hurd will executive produce the series with her Universal Cable Productions-based Valhalla Entertainment banner with Paramount Television co-producing. Jogn McLaughlin (Black Swan) will write and exec produce.
