You know who doesn't get enough attention? Batman!
With the increase in the premium figure and statue market in North America in recent years, Square Enix has recently set up a new office in this home country of ours, specifically to bring more of their high-end collectibles from Japan to the domestic market.
The focus, then, to kick things off, is on Batman. There were three different Batman lines on display at Toy Fair 2015 from the company. The first is a look at Batman through the ages, with a Cowboy, Medieval, Spartan, and Steampunk take on the character, each "loosely inspired by, but not beholden to Elseworlds stories," according to a company representative at the show.
Batman line number two features looks from the upcoming game Batman: Arkham Knight. The game is the highly anticipated final chapter in the Rocksteady trilogy, and has toy lines coming from pretty much every major producer of toys that has ever worked with DC Comics. This one features Batman, Harley Quinn, and the titular Arkham Knight.
Finally, there's a new specially designed armored Catwoman and Batman set.
Of course, Square Enix does get into the Marvel spirit, as well, with some high-end designs for Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Thor rounding out their comic book inspired offerings. The company's video game inspired line of toys and statues will also see major expansion in 2015, particularly focusing on Metal Gear Solid in anticipation of that next game chapter.
