Transformers: Combiner Wars Official Trailer: War of the Biggest

Fans may get hung up on Michael Bay's Transformers movies and how it does or does not compare to the classic '80s cartoon, but in actuality Transformers has an extensive mythos that extends through many cartoon and comic book series, and the latest in that series is Transformers: Combiner Wars. After many teases and promo previews, we now have the Combiner Wars official trailer, in time for San Diego Comic-Con 2016!

Combiner Wars will be the kickoff of the "Prime Wars Trilogy", Hasbro's ambitious plan for an immersive, cross-platform Transformers experience that will span from this Machinima digital series to the comic book series and Activision video game series. If you have any trouble discerning the plotline from the trailer above, Combiner Wars sees the Transformers back on Cybertron after the Earth wars, only to face a new threat in the rise of the Combiners. That threat will lead to (literally) bigger threats in the next series Titans Return, as fan-fav Sentinel Prime arrives on the scene.

As we previously reported, Combiner Wars will start on August 2nd and run its 8 episodes through summer 2016, with Titans Return coming in fall 2016 and running through the end of the year. A third series is planned to follow, but is yet untitled.
