While Rocksteady Studios' celebrated Batman: Arkham series may be at an end, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have no doubt that their star character can and will continue in video games. In fact, Batman is still their primary character moving forward for games.

"Batman is one of the cornerstone IPs for Warner Bros. With the Arkham series, we were finally able to realize the full potential of the character," Ames Kirshen, VP of Product Development at WBIE told PlayStation Blog. "We don't have anything to talk about at this time, but the possibilities are endless with a character as dynamic and beloved as Batman."

Of course, that doesn't mean other characters at DC Comics are out of the mix, either.

"When choosing what DC Entertainment IP we might focus on for any game, it boils down to honing in on the IPs that map the strongest, genre-wise, to what fans are interested in seeing and playing," Kirshen said. "From there, it's about getting the development studios with the strongest passion for those IPs to make the games."

They'll continue to work with Rocksteady, NetherRealm, and TT Games, as well as in-house development studios like WB Montreal to bring those new games to market, but for now, they're not talking specifics. Still, if you're sad Arkham is over, don't be too worried, as it sounds like there'll be plenty more Batman coming to your consoles.
