Win Morisaki, who appeared in the 2008 television series "Gakko Ja Oshierarenai!" and is the lead vocalist of the boy band PrizmaX, has landed a role in the feature film adaptation of Ready Player One.

Morisaki, 25, will play a Gunter (a user who searches for Halliday's Easter Egg) who is known as Daito in OASIS and whose real name is Toshiro Yoshiaki.

Morisaki joins a cast that already features Tye Sheridan as Wade Watts, Olivia Cooke as Art3mis, Simon Pegg as Orgen Morrow, Ben Mendelsohn as Nolan Sorento, T.J. Miller as i-R0k and Mark Rylance as James Donovan Halliday.

Morisaki also appeared in the Japanese films "Sherry" and "Gokusen: The Movie."

Ready Player One is an adaptation of the novel written by Earnest Cline. The story takes place in 2044 and follows a teenager named Wade Watts as he embarks on a search for a hidden Easter Egg in the digital world of OASIS. Wade is challenged along the way by having to solve puzzles set up by the game's pop culture obsessed creator to unlock each new clue, but vast power and wealth awaits should he succeed.

A three-time Academy Award winner, Spielberg ("Schindler's List," "Saving Private Ryan") is directing Ready Player One, and the film is being produced by Spielberg; Donald De Line, under his De Line Pictures banner; Dan Farah; and Spielberg's longtime colleague Kristie Macosko Krieger; with Bruce Berman serving as executive producer.

Filming is expected to begin later this month.
