Ever since Bradley Cooper left Relativity Media's remake of The Crow, the project has been one step out of development hell, reportedly trying and failing to nail down leading men like Mark Wahlberg in order to keep it vital and prevent it from becoming yet another low-budget Crow sequel that nobody pays attention to. Well, it looks like the movie--based on the 1989 comic book series by James O'Barr and the 1994 film starring Brandon Lee--may have made a step in the right direction, with X-Men: First Class star James McAvoy reportedly in talks to star. The real question, of course, becomes whether McAvoy and Relativity can make a schedule work. Even if they can come to a contract agreement, McAvoy is about to start shooting on X-Men: Days of Future Past, and is unlikely to have a significant block of time for the next while. F. Javier Gutierrez is set to direct from a screenplay by Jesse Wigutow.
