The internet's obsession over cats has officially reached a new level. Two college graduates from University of California - Berkeley have successfully developed and launched a new pair of cat ear headsets using money they received from a wildly popular crowdfunding campaign. The headsets, called Axent Wear, comes with external ear-shaped speakers that allow users to share whatever they're listening to with the world. The nifty devices also come with built in LED lights, a detachable gaming mic and rechargeable batteries.

Wenqing Yan and Victoria Hu, the grads who invented the headsets, teamed up with the American retailer Brookstone (the mall shop/online retailer that sells a variety of goofy, hi-tech devices) to release the product. Brookstone currently has the headsets available on their website for the low, low price of $149.99.

Yan and Hu originally launched an Indiegogo campaign for $250,000 to develop the product but received over $3 million in funds from their campaign, which allowed them to add several new features to the headsets. The campaign ended in November 2014 and after a year of testing and development, the headsets are now ready to be sold to the public.

Currently, the headsets come in four colors: red, green, blue and purple. If you're looking for a gift idea for that cat obsessed gamer on your Holiday shopping list, this might be the purr-fect idea.
