On Friday, the UFC announced that the U.S. Anti-Doping agency has informed Brock Lesnar of a possible doping violation coming from a sample collected 12 days prior to his victory over Mark Hunt in UFC 200.
The UFC stated, "The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping agency (USADA) has informed Brock Lesnar of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collection on June 28, 2016." The statement continued, "USADA received the testing results from the June 28, 2016 sample collection from the WADA-accredited UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory on the evening of July 14, 2016."
Prior to UFC 200, Mark Hunt accused Lesnar of doping and stated that the former UFC heavyweight champion was "juiced to the gills." Lesnar responded to the claims during a media conference days before UFC 200 by saying: "I've been dealing with that my entire life. I'm a white boy, and I'm jacked. Deal with it. What do you want me to say? I'm a white boy, and I'm jacked. Deal with it."
Hunt feels that he deserves to compensated for Lesnar's alleged doping. He has asked for half of the purse - reportedly $2.5 million before pay-per-view buys factor in - or to be released from his contract effective immediately, according to USA Today. Hunt mentioned to MMAFighting magazine: "The cheaters get a slap on the wrist and walk off. What penalty or deterrent is there to make them think twice? Nothing. And the (Nevada Athletic Commission), why should these (expletive) get anything? They are not the ones who had to fight with Lesnar or lose (to him). I lost." Lesnar won by unanimous decision over Hunt.
The USADA will be handling the case from this point forward. "USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case. It is important to note that, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full fair legal review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed."
Lesnar is not scheduled to return to the WWE until August 21, but according to Lesnar, "Brock Lesnar does what Brock Lesnar wants to do."
