Director Edgar Wright discovered on Friday night that his film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World was playing on television. To everyone's benefit, he decided to take the opportunity to hilariously live-tweet the experience with his fans on Twitter. The movie was released six years ago, but is still a beloved film with a devoted cult fanbase.

"Scott Pilgrim' is on @Channel4 right now," Wright tweeted. "If you ALL switch on, they might show it as much as @itv2shows 'Hot Fuzz.' Do it!" The 42-year-old director sparked a Twitter Q&A after this tweet, and even tweeted about Brie Larson and Mary Winstead.

One tweet from Wright stated: "I think we all agree: @M_E_Winstead looks best with the blue hair."

Another tweet read: "We all know @brielarson's Oscar was a retroactive nod for 'Scott Pilgrim.' Right @TheAcademy?"

The director also treated his fans to a funny tidbit from the shooting of the film. Actor Jason Schwartzman (who Wrights believes was the funniest cast member on set) was forced to continuously swallow gum on ever take, and Wright offered him a bizarre wrap gift because of that scene.

Wright tweeted: "True. Schwartzman swallowed gum on every take. I bought him an enema for a wrap gift."

The timing seemed perfect for Wright's movie to be playing on television as another one of his cast members was recently tapped for a superhero role, Brie Larson. Larson was recently cast as Captain Marvel, and will be showing up in Avengers: Infinity War. The other actors cast in superhero roles were Brandon Routh and Chris Evans.

Edgar Wright's next film will be called "Baby Driver," and will star Lily James, Kevin Spacey, Jamie Foxx and Jon Hamm. The release for this upcoming movie has been set for St. Patrick's Day next year, according to Indie Wire.
