Ryan Lochte has returned to the United States amid drama in Rio surrounding the swimmer's allegation that he and three of his teammtes were robbed at gunpoint at the games after being pulled over in a taxi.
On Wednesday, a search and seizure warrant was issued for Lochte and teammate James Feigen's passports, due to allegations that their story about the robbery was untrue. Reports say that officials were unable to locate the taxi driver and the athletes were allegedly unable to provide key details about the incident.
Prior to the ruling, Lochte had returned to the United States on Tuesday, before the warrant was issued, PEOPLE reports. The swimmer touched down in North Carolina with Playboy model Kayla Rae Reid.
Witnesses report that Lochte was seen at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina with Reid at around 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, wearing track pants and looking "relaxed."
"They were just talking normally, not laughing, but just normal," said Janie Sircey. "They didn't look worried."
"His platinum hair was showing, and it's so in your face, it was very obvious it was him," she added.
Lochte had also posted a Snapchat of himself walking through the airport, writing "That's right, back on U.S. soil."
Reid had been in Rio as well, supporting Lochte as he competed in the Olympics. The model has previously shared multiple photos of herself and Lochte on her Instagram page, including a recent shot in which she wished the swimmer a happy birthday.
