On Thursday morning, MTV announced that American artist/producer duo, The Chainsmokers, will be rocking the stage at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. The band will be performing their #1 single "Closer" alongside collaborator Halsey.

Other previously announced performers include: Britney Spears featuring G-Eazy, Ariana Grande with Nicki Minaj, Nick Jonas featuring Ty Dolla $ign, Future, and the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard recipient Rihanna.

Some of the presenters for this year's Awards show include Sean "Diddy Combs, Alicia Keys, Ansel Elgort, Fifth Harmony, Kim Kardashian West, and Rita Ora. The other additional presenters will be announced at a later time.

The 2016 "MTV Video Music Awards" will air Live on Sunday, August 28 at 9:00 p.m. ET from New York's Madison Square Garden.
