Kelly Ripa Makes Major 'Live!' Co-Host Announcement

Kelly Ripa has a big announcement!

The talk show host, who has been searching for a new co-host for her show, Live!, after her previous co-host, Michael Strahan, left the show to become a co-anchor on Good Morning America, announced Wednesday that a fan will have the opportunity to appear as a co-host the show with her.

"Now it's time to put your mouths where your thumbs are," she said, noting that she's read social media comments that call her job easy. "I'm building a co-host empire."

As part of the contest, called "Live with Kelly and YOU," fans will have the chance to send in videos to and applications to hopefully get the chance to co-host the show with Ripa for an entire episode.

Fans can send in videos until Sept. 20, although the contest's website does not share how many winners will be selected.

"Good luck, and I'll see you here," Ripa said Wednesday.

Ripa has been testing possible co-hosts for months, and the possible roster has included Anderson Cooper, Fred Savage, Rob Lowe and Alec Baldwin, Entertainment Tonight reports.
