Homecoming King Kneels And Gives Crown To Football Team Manager With Cerebral Palsy

Max Akin, a Texas high school quarterback, was crowned Homecoming King, but he felt as though someone else deserved the crown. So, he gave it to his classmate, K.L. Norwood, who happens to have cerebral palsy.

Akin brought Norwood onto the field beside the Homecoming Queen, and knelt down in front of him. The image of Akin handing Norwood the crown has since gone viral on Twitter. It seems everyone loves this touching gesture.

"I didn't know when I would have the right time to do it," Akin said. "But I saw K.L., came over and gave him a hug, and I knew that he wanted that crown more than anything."

Norwood is not only the football team manager, but he was also a nominee for homecoming king this year, though he didn't get the majority of the votes to win. That was irrelevant, however, because when Akin handed him the crown, the crowd cheered Norwood on.

One classmate even tweeted a video of the two swapping the crown with the caption, "I am actually crying."

"I thought it was the best hearing them chant K.L.'s name right after halftime, and I know he liked that, too," Akin said. "Everybody was going wild for him. Everybody loves K.L. at this school."

The Fossil Ridge football team has actually won the first three games of the season so far, so not only can Norwood rejoice in his kingship, but he can celebrate the many victories of his football team as well.
