Game of Thrones - Mockingbird

A new episode of Game of Thrones airs tonight on HBO. Last week's episode ended on Tyrion's cliffhanger demand for a trial by combat. What will the fallout from that declaration be? In last week's episode, "The Laws of Gods and Men," Yara Greyjoy attempted to rescue Theon from the Dreadfort only to discover that her brother isn't the man he once was. In Meereen, Daenerys began holding court as the city's new ruler. Meanwhile, Davos Seaworth and Stannis Baratheon sailed to Braavos to acquire the financial assistance needed to continue the war. The bulk of the episode, however, took place at King's Landing, where Tyrion Lannister was on trial for the murder of King Joffrey. While his brother, Jaime, brokered a deal with their father, Tywin, to spare Tyrion's life, things went south when his lover, Shae, gave humiliating testimony against him. In a moment of anger, he threw caution to the wind and embraced spite, demanding trial by combat. In "Mockingbird," Tyrion enlists an unlikely ally. Daario entreats Daenerys to allow him to do what he does best. Jon's warnings about the Wall's vulnerability fall on deaf ears. Brienne follows a new lead on the road with Pod. Several images and a preview video have been released leading up to the episode. All have been included below. Game of Thrones, "Mockingbird," is written by showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff and directed by Alik Sakharov. "Mockingbird" will air Sunday, May 18 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
