Harrison Ford injured his ankle during filming for Star Wars Episode VII in the UK today, according to a statement issues by Walt Disney Studios. The actor was brought to a local hospital to receive treatment.
Disney's statement reads, "Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates."
Ford, reprising his role as Han Solo from the original Star Wars trilogy, is the second major star to injure his ankle during the filming of a Disney blockbuster in recent years. In 2012, Robert Downey Jr. suffered an ankle injury during filming for Iron Man 3, delaying production. Hopefully this isn't the beginning of a trend.
