Tony Moore, who crafted the first six covers of The Walking Dead comic book, will be returning for the iconic issue 150, over 10 years later.
"It's indisputable that reaching issue 150 is a huge achievement in comics," The Walking Dead writer/creator, Robert Kirkman, said. "Charlie Adlard and Team Walking Dead have been working tirelessly for over a decade to get us to this milestone and now it's time to celebrate. It's an honor to have comic book pals Jason Latour and Ryan Ottley bringing their vision to these iconic characters. Additionally, words cannot describe how excited I am to have Tony Moore, artist of the first 6 issues, returning to provide a cover for this special event."
Moore's take on the issue is a re-imagining of his original number one issue but in comparison, readers can see the emotional and physical toll Rick Grimes has experienced and will notice the characters and enemies he has encountered on the journey being mirrored, rather than zombies. You should notice in the original cover number one, Rick has both hands. On issue 150's cover, he has to use his arm to hoist his shotgun for reloading, having lost his right hand years ago.
The other artists creating variant covers for the landmark issue include Jason Latour, Ryan Ottley, and Charlie Adlard.
