Sony Pictures And WWE Announce Surf's Up 2: Wavemania

Cody Maverick and the penguins of Surfs Up are getting some help from the WWE in their new animated sequel Surfs Up 2: Wavemania.

In conjunction with Sony Pictures Animation, the wrestlers of the WWE, including John Cena, The Undertaker, Paige, Triple H, and Vince McMahon make up the voice cast of the Hang 5, a group of big wave surfers who Cody Maverick joins up with to find the legendary wave spot known as The Trenches.

"We are thrilled to be working with Sony Pictures Animation to bring Cody Maverick back to audiences for more adventures, paired with our WWE Superstars in what promises to be a fun animated film for the entire family," said Michael Luisi, WWE Studios President.

"WWE has a proven track record with family audiences, and we couldn't be more excited to partner with them and dive back into the fun world of our surfing penguins," adds Kristine Belson, President, Sony Pictures Animation.

Giving credit where it is due, the art team at Sony Pictures Animation did an amazing job recreating these WWE superstars and bringing them into the world of Surf's Up 2. If John Cena or Paige were a penguin, I imagine that is how they'd look. Hopefully at some point in the film we'll get a 5 knuckle shuffle, just for kicks.
