The Walking Dead has been non-stop all season long. While the AMC series tends to deviate from its comic book roots at times, for the most part, the show has followed Robert Kirkman's original work and sometimes it's as if they ripped pages out of the book to put them straight on your TV screen.
Let's take a look a five iconic moments from the comics we want to see on TV. Be warned, this does mean spoilers for the comics and possible for The Walking Dead TV show.
Disclaimer: Rick getting his hand cut off won't be on this list. If it happens, it happens, but there's plenty more to look forward to.
No Way Out
One could argue that the entirety of season six thus far has been the equivalent to the No Way Out storyline from the comics - but let's see the walkers gets inside.
In The Walking Dead's printed No Way Out arc, Alexandria's walls fell and hundreds - no, thousands, actually - of zombies tore the community apart and claimed a countless number of victims. Let's see some true chaos unfold where everyone thinks they're safe.
Carl's Eye
During that No Way Out story I just mentioned, Carl loses his eye.
As Douglas Monroe, the comic book counterpart to Deanna and leader of the Alexandria Safe-Zone, is taken down by a horde of zombies, he fires shots in every direction like a panicked mad man. One of those bullets strikes Carl in the eye and blows off a chuck of his face.
Chandler Riggs has said he wants to see Carl lose the eye time and time again. Well, Chandler, so do we.
Meet Lucille
It's still a mystery, whether or not Glenn is alive or dead. This makes another comic book storyline an even bigger mystery: who is going to quench Lucille's thirst?
In Negan's infamous issue #100 introduction, Negan plays eenie-meenie-minie-moe to select a victim whom he will bash their head in with his barbed wire covered bat named Lucille. Fans know this victim to have been Glenn, who cried out for Maggie with his last words, but when we meet Lucille, who is she going to claim?
Daryl? Will his last words "C--- Carol!!"?
In any case, let's meet the Saviors.
Ezekial, His Tiger, and The Kingdom
Beyond the Saviors and Negan is a larger world of communities. One of those communities: The Kingdom, ruled by Ezekial and his pet tiger, Shiva.
What? A tiger on The Walking Dead? Robert Kirkman has said he thinks it is possible and we all want to see it happen. How the heck would AMC pull it off? Well, that's not our problem. We just want to see Shiva realized on television and watch her go to town on some walkers.
Plus, Ezekial finally brings out some emotion from Michonne, so there's an added bonus to the additional cast members.
We know Jesus is coming following the casting announcement of Tom Payne for the role which leads us to believe the show will follow the Larger World storyline right to the Kingdom.
Rick & Jessie
Can we finally see Rick and Jessie hook up? Seriously, Rick deserves a little something for everything he's been through and let's not act like Jessie isn't feeling him, too.
In the comics, it's actually Jessie who comes on to Rick in the middle of the night rather than Rick being all Shane Walsh. However, in the comics, Rick ends up with Andrea who we know died a long time ago on the TV series. All in favor of keeping Jessie around as Rick's bad-ass love interest?
If the show stays true to the comics here, Jessie is in trouble once that walker horde gets into Alexandria. She grabs onto Carl as a pack of walkers eats her and Rick ruthlessly cuts off her hand to free his son from her grip. Will this be the case on the show? Who knows ... We still have to see them get together first!
