In an interview with SkyOne, Mads Mikkelsen finally revealed something about his character in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The actor's role - and in fact most of the characters in the film - has been a heavily-guarded secret.
"Rogue One, let's do that one, and I can say absolutely nothing about it," Mikkelsen told the interviewer at first. "It's the very first one, it's before anything you've ever seen in the Star Wars universe," he said, ignoring the prequels and animated series and comics and novels that all take place ahead of it.
Here's where the Spoilers come in about his character. You've been warned.
The actor said he was "a little scared" to come into the Star Wars universe. "I read the script and it was very beautiful," Mikkelsen continued. "Felicity [Jones] is playing this lovely, strong woman. I play her... father. That's too much, I'm sorry."
There you have it, he's playing Jyn Erso's father.
He said he wouldn't reveal whether Darth Vader is in the film, though.
Mikkelsen is also playing a villain in Doctor Strange, so the later months of the year will be pretty big for him (and Disney).
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is in post production now for a December 16, 2016 release.
