Nostalgia is a beautiful thing, especially in the vast and ever-growing world of Star Wars. Fans squeeled with excitement upon seeing the Millenium Falcon in The Force Awakens, or Gold Leader flying an X-Wing in Rogue One - but this nostalgia can only pale in comparison to someone who's experienced this universe first-hand.
For Mark Hamill - the actor who has played Luke Skywalker since the first Star Wars film in 1977 - existing in the world of Star Wars for an entire lifetime has to be a thrilling experience. It's probably even more memorable when someone presents you with a part of your past you weren't expecting.
In a new episode of Hamill's show Pop Culture Quest, the host is presented with one of his original lightsabers from the Star Wars films. This thing wasn't even a replica - it was the actual handle Hamill weilded in Star Wars: Episode VI - Return Of The Jedi.
The collector who presented Hamill with the piece also explained that he wasn't the only Jedi to use the weapon. Alec Guiness - who portrayed Obi Won Kenobi - used the same lightsaber to fight Darth Vader in A New Hope.
As Hamill examined the lightsaber handle, you could see all of the memories flooding back to him. He went on to explain how this prop worked, and how it generated the lightsaber effect that we've all come to know and love.
It's a fascinating piece, and any Star Wars fan would instantly melt given the chance to hold such an important part of galactic history.
