The Walking Dead #156 Sneak Peak Released

The first look at The Walking Dead's July issue, #156, has been shared online by the comic's artist, Charlie Adlard.

It looks like the new issue will follow up with where we last saw Negan in June's issue #155. The villain and menace (spoilers ahead) recently escaped his Alexandria prison cell and murdered the young boy who helped him out. He now finds himself forming an alliance with Rick's biggest enemy and threat to Alexandria: the Whisperers.

Earlier this week, Negan's heartbreaking backstory was revealed as Here's Negan published its third installment. While we did feel bad for the character as he watched his wife pass away pre-apocalypse, it's hard to have any sympathy for him as he lines himself up as an enemy to those trying to rebuild civilization.

Negan's attraction for Alpha may be a reflection of his origin story. As his beloved wife battled cancer, she lost all of her hair. In issue #155, around the same time this part of Negan's backstory was revealed, the villain made a comment about his appreciation for Alpha's baldness. Though they're ignoring him, he appears to be fitting in decently with the Whisperers during dinner time.

Given that the preview is so secretive, we can assume some major events may be going down in #156. We'll likely get a better picture of Aaron's fate, Alpha's reaction to Dwight's attacks across their border, and Rick will continue to struggle with his methods of leadership and morals.
