Negan Governor

It will never happen but let's, for a moment, pretend that it could... Negan vs. Governor. A Walking Dead supervillain showdown. Who would win?

If you said Negan, not only are you probably right, but Negan actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan would agree with you. The actor was recently asked the question during an interview with EW and he puts all of his chips in Negan's corner.

"It's not even close," Morgan says confidently. "I mean, I love David Morrissey, but he wouldn't stand a chance. Wouldn't stand a chance. I'd put Negan up against anybody. He's super smart and there's no filter, no fear. The Governor was a little bit wack. Negan's got it together. It wouldn't even be close. And I'm sorry, 'cause I really love David. He's awesome. I worked with him for a year and there's just not a better guy. But Negan versus the Governor wouldn't be close."

Given how confident Morgan is about Negan's ability to take down the once leader of Woodbury and destroyer of the prison, we can only imagine what type of threat the villain will pose in The Walking Dead's seventh season. Morgan knows much more than any of us on the topic as the cast is currently filming episode eight, so he must be drawing from some of the events in the coming episodes when he makes such confident claims.

The Walking Dead will return for its seventh season October 23 at 9 PM ET on AMC. For complete coverage, insider info, and more all season long, be sure to follow me on Twitter @BrandonDavisBD and check out The Walking Dead on ComicBook.com on Facebook.
