The Walking Dead Season 7 has followed the comics more closely than any batch of episodes before it.
In Episode 7x08, Hearts Still Beating, the AMC series plastered the panels of issue #111 of The Walking Dead comics onto our TV screens. While Daryl Dixon did not exist in the comics and never will -- meaning the encounter between him and Fat Joey was made for television -- it was the gutting of Spencer which fans were most excited to see realized.
In the gallery below, the events of midseason finale of AMC's The Walking Dead are framed side by side with the panels of Skybound and Image Comics' The Walking Dead #111.
As you'll see, some of the dialogue is adapted to television word for word.
Of course, Olivia's shot to the face was added for television. With that, Rosita's shooting of Lucille was also added to the episode, though a similar moment occured in the books.
The main differences in Lucille's shot were three things: who shot her, where the bullet hit her, and when she was shot. It war Carl who shot Lucille a bit later down the line. Negan becomes enraged and insists Carl is handed over. Negan threatens to kill someone inthe following moments if Carl is not handed over but reinforments arrive to help the folks of Alexandria and the Saviors end up hightailing it out of town.
