The Walking Dead fans have been expecting Sasha to die in Season 7 for months. Not only is the character appearing to completely fill out the story left for her by Holly in the comics but Sonequa Martin-Green, the actress who plays Sasha, joined the cast of CBS' new Star Trek: Discovery series.
Nothing is guaranteed but it sure seems like Sasha is going to bow out before the sixteenth episode of Season 7 comes to a close.
Whether or not Sasha is one of the characters who won't see Season 8, she is not the only character who could be killed off in the next two Sundays. With showrunner Scott Gimple promising "losses" and "betrayal" in the finale, we know she won't be alone, assuming Sasha goes.
On the following slides, we take a look at the characters most likely to die before Season 7 of The Walking Dead comes to an end.
If Sasha's story is going to be told accurately to the comics, there is a nasty attempted rape on the horizon.
As Sasha's comic book counterpart is being held captive in the Sanctuary, a creepy Savior named David approaches. He offers to get her water only if he will do something for him to show just how thirsty she is. Negan, however, has a strict "No Rape" policy in the Sanctuary and shows up just in time to catch David in the act.
After calling David out for his actions and getting an apology, Negan drives a gigantic knife through David's throat. The creep show bleeds out and dies, collapsing to the ground.
There hasn't been many things which point towards a Simon death just yet but the character seems like a major blow to the Saviors if he were to die. If the Season 7 finale is, in fact, the "turning point" which Austin Amelio promises, Rick's group will have chalked up some sort of victory against the Saviors.
While it certainly won't be Negan dying before the season comes to an end, one of his lieutenants bowing out would be a huge win for Rick and company.
Plus, Steven Ogg is a regular on HBO's Westworld series and no actor has been able to double down on such key roles when playing a part on The Walking Dead. (Ask: Corey Hawkins)
Killing Eugene would shock audiences. Many are suspecting Sasha to go in the Season 7 finale, however, the showrunners might be setting us up for a major switch of double whammy.
In fact, the latter seems more likely. Every time Negan has struck the good guys with death, it has come in pairs. Abraham and Glenn. Spencer and Olivia. Benjamin and Richard.
If Sasha is going to be killed off, sending Eugene with her would be a shocking twist which no fans have been suspecting, which is something the season finales have been able to master year after year. Losing both characters would send Rick into a frenzy when it comes to war preparations.
While Rosita can serve as a valuable soldier for Rick, her choices and haste keep her constantly at risk.
In Episode 7x14 (The Other Side), the character finally saw some major development. As she sat and talked about her experiences in the apocalypse with Sasha prior to their raid on the Sanctuary, we learned more about Rosita than ever before.
This is typically troubling news for any character on The Walking Dead. Hershel gave a speech at the prison and lost his head. Tyreese revealed his beliefs in morality and was bitten, twice. Benjamin started to be important to Morgan and he was shot in the leg.
Rosita should have just kept her mouth shut if she wanted to stay alive!
