Although The Walking Dead's midseason 7 finale killed off two of the good guys, it was Fat Joey's death which seems to be resonating heavily with fans. A member of the Saviors, Fat Joey was killed by Daryl Dixon when all he really wanted to do was bite into his sandwich.
Nevertheless, Fat Joey is very much dead and his body is currently left at the Sanctuary -- mashed head and all. With Negan currently marching back to his hideout, the discovery of Fat Joey's death and Daryl's escape is inevitable. We imagine the fearless leader of the Saviors will be none-too-pleased about the entire thing.
Speaking to Fat Joey actor Joshua Hoover, ComicBook.com has a bit of inside info about what to expect when Negan finds his dead Savior.
"I know what happens so I can't really talk about it too much," Hoover said.
Still, Hoover dropped some of that knowledge on us, explaining how and why Joey was important to Negan.
"The thing is, you guys are the ones that did the article about Fat Joseph having a little bit more meaning," Hoover said. "Not even just for the technical stuff but he doesn't talk to a lot of the Saviors. Negan doesn't interact with a lot of the Saviors as much as you see. You have hundreds of guys that are down there in that Sanctuary. I felt lucky to have a lot of screen tie with Negan and do the scenes that we had."
Of course, Negan's actual reaction doesn't sound like a happy one considering how heavily he relied on Joey.
"He's definitely gonna be upset," Hoover said. "He might be vengeful. I don't know all that happens but I know that he has some few choice words to say about it."
