The Walking Dead fans who are worrid about Grimbly Gunk can breath a sigh of relief.

The Walking Dead showrunner Scott Gimple assured fans after Talking Dead that the stuffed doll previously seen being a traveling companion with Eugene Porter is just fine. "He's on a shelf," Gimple said. "He's fine." No word on whether or not the doll will appear on the series any time soon, though.

Grimbly Gunk first appeared on The Walking Dead in its seventh season and became an iconic part of Eugene's dark side get up, often hanging from his pocket. Eugene's capture and eventual betrayal to the Saviors was met with the stuffed figure the zombie drama's production team found on Etsy, along with the velveteen rabbit Judith and Gracie have been seen holding.

As it turns out, Etsy is a popular choice for prop master John Sanders.

"[Scott Gimple] wrote in the script, a velveteen rabbit," Sanders said. "I went to Etsy and I looked and there were nine different velveteen rabbits but this velveteen rabbit reminded me of my childhood. Scott's a little bit younger than me, but not much, so I showed it to him and he picked it instantly. Guess where it's made? Scotland. And we only had six days. So I called the woman and I said, 'I need ten of those rabbits!' She said, 'No.' I said, 'We're The Walking Dead!' She said, 'No.' Maybe she doesn't get that in Scotland. So, I explained it to her and how much I really wanted it and what I was gonna do with it and she got really excited. She made me two rabbits."

The Walking Dead returns for the second half of its eighth season on February 25, 2018. For complete coverage and insider info all season long, follow @BrandonDavisBD on Twitter.
