Alert: Spoilers! Spoilers Ahead!

If you've watched the Season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead, then you know some truly gnarly things went down. Skulls were bashed in, brains were turned to much, and a father nearly had to chop off his sons arms - and those are just the highlights. Of course, fans were most indignant about the deaths of Abraham and Glenn, and audiences blamed Daryl for the latter's gruesome end.

However, Steven Yeun doesn't think the blame rests with Daryl.

The actor spoke with Entertainment Weekly about his character's shocking death and said fans should not blame Daryl for Glenn's end. The fault rests with Negan, the crazed leader of the Saviors who cracked open Glenn's skull with a barbed-wire bat.

Yeun said Daryl can't be blamed for Negan's action, but the actor did say there will be one character on The Walking Dead who blames Daryl for what happened to Glenn. He thinks it will be the man himself.

"I think Daryl is a character that will blame himself," Yeun said. "I think that's enough for him. Even if it's not real or even if it's not accurate or fair, I think he would shoulder that type of burden. It'll be interesting to see what happens with that and I'm sure Norman will crush it."

Fans began debating who was at fault for Glenn's death shortly after Season 7 aired. Jeffrey Dean Morgan fueled the blame-game during Sunday's Talking Dead as the actor told fans, "If it wasn't for Daryl, Glenn would still be alive."

Unsurprisingly, Norman Reedus didn't take too kindly to his character being thrown under the bus by the guy who brought his bat down on Glenn.

It does seem that Reedus does agree with Morgan's claim on some level. The actor told ComicBook.com exclusively that Glenn's death will weigh heavily on him.

"I don't know that anybody in that group blames him for anything, but he blames himself more than anything," Reedus said. "It really brings him down to a certain level where whatever shitty thing is thrown at him, he is just going to take it."

Glenn's death is only the first of a long line of dark things to come for Daryl. The character found himself taken by Negan in the Season 7 premiere, and Reedus said his character was nothing more than a prisoner of war who goes "very, very dark."

"He goes very, very dark," Reedus said. "He does certain things that he can't go back from. He goes to a very, very dark, dark place. It's a combination of hatred. It's a combination of self-loathing. It's different from when he first started on the show. He has a big chip on his shoulder. He thought people wouldn't like him. He didn't give a shit. He hates you, too. It turns now into he kind of hates himself. He hates the world that we're in, and he doesn't lose the fight in him, but he definitely no longer sees anything good in the world, that's for sure."

"The Kingdom" episode of The Walking Dead will air Sunday, October 30 at 9/8c on AMC.
