Mezco Announces Thundercats Lion-O Mega Scale Figure

ThunderCats, Ho! Any fans of the pop culture classic are going to want to add this new Lion-O figure by Mezco to their collection.

Serving as Mezco's summer exclusive figure, this Lion-O figure includes a light-up feature that recreates the fiery eyes we all came to know and love from the animated series.

Standing in over 14 inches tall, the figure is a part of Mezco's Mega Scale Figures line and includes three accessories: A removable Claw Shield and two versions of the Sword of Omens.

The figure comes complete with a collector-friendly window box and is now available for preorder through the Mezco Toyz website. As it is the company's summer exclusive, it won't ship until the product official debuts at this summer's San Diego Comic Con.

For those not wanting to wait for the item to ship after SDCC, you're able to purchase it directly at the convention itself as Mezco will be set up in booth #3445.

To those who didn't grow up on original '80s cartoon, the 2011 cartoon reboot, or the comic books, toys, and other merchandise the brand launched, ThunderCats takes place when a group of cat/humanoid aliens from the planet Thundera flee their dying home world and crash land on a planet called Third Earth. Also marooned on the new world are the ThunderCats' enemies, The Mutants of Plun-Darr, who fall under sway of an ancient evil sorcerer from Third Earth, Mumm-Ra. The ThunderCats young leader, Lion-O holds the key to the balance of power in the fight: The mystic Sword of Omens. The only problem is: Lion-O has been artificially aged; so even though he's a formidable adult warrior, physically, mentally, and emotionally he's still a child who has much to learn, very quickly.
