At the beginning of the first season of Riverdale, Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Hermione Lodge (Marisol Nichols) find themselves forced to adjust to a major lifestyle downgrade as they move away from luxury-filled New York City for the working man's world of Riverdale.

Now in a deleted scene from the season one DVD viewers get a better look at just how much of a struggle that adjustment was for the Lodge ladies. The scene comes from a moment in episode two, "A Touch of Evil," where Veronica learns that her mom is applying to be a waitress at the town's favorite hangout, Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe. You can check out the clip shared, by Variety, above.

"Mom, that place is a poor man's Shake Shack," Veronica tells Hermione in the deleted scene. "And have you ever — no offense — worked before?"

With the Lodges' strapped for cash due to Hiram Lodge being incarcerated Hermione needing employment was implied early in the season, but she simply appeared at the diner in uniform with little in the way of explanation. This deleted scene gives viewers a little more context about the Lodges' situation as well as how difficult the adjustment really is for Veronica.

The Riverdale season one DVD is available now.

Riverdale's second season will premiere on a new night, on Wednesday, October 11th, at 8/7c, on The CW.

The first season of RIVERDALE found our characters reeling from the tragic death of high school golden boy Jason Blossom. For many who had seen their home as perfect, safe, and innocent, the investigation into Jason's murder peeled back the layers of their hometown to reveal a place bubbling over with secrets, mysteries, and scandals. As the town breathed a collective sigh of relief that Jason's killer had been found out, another terrible crime occurred, in a space that had been considered one of the town's safest, most innocent places. If Jason Blossom's murder revealed the slimy underbelly beneath Riverdale's surface, as we enter Season Two, the shooting of Fred Andrews threatens to plunge the entire town into utter darkness.

Based on the characters from Archie Comics, RIVERDALE is from Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios, in association with Berlanti Productions, with executive producers Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Supergirl, Glee), Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, DC's Legends of Tomorrow), Sarah Schechter (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, DC's Legends of Tomorrow) and Jon Goldwater (Archie Comics).
