'Riverdale': 'Chapter Nineteen: Death Proof' Trailer Released

The CW has released a promo for "Chapter Nineteen: Death Proof", the upcoming sixth episode of Riverdale's second season.

As can be seen in the video above, the episode will follow the fallout from this week's episode with Betty dealing with having gone dark at the urging of the Black Hood while Mayor McCoy (Robin Givens) escalates tensions between the North and Southside leading to what appears to be a turf war that involves both Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and Archie (KJ Apa.)

The episode will also see Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) confronting her mother Penelope (Nathalie Boltt) after her traumatic experience at the hands of Veronica's (Camila Mendes) friend, Nick St. Clair.

"Chapter Nineteen: Death Proof" takes its name from Quentin Tarantino's 2007 exploitation film, Death Proof. The film stars Kurt Russel as a stuntman who uses his "death-proof" stunt car to murder young women in staged accidents. While it doesn't look like anyone is being murdered in cars in the promo for next week, cars definitely have a place in the episode. Photos released earlier this week reveal 70s-era muscle cars while the promo above highlights a race with a car of a slightly older vintage.

"Chapter Nineteen: Death Proof" airs Wednesday, November 15th at 8/7c on The CW.
