WWE Announces Hosts For Wrestlemania 33

Don't you dare be sour, because The New Day has officially been announced as the hosts of WrestleMania 33!

Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods broke the news on "TMZ Live" and said they're psyched ... since they'll essentially be the faces of the biggest WWE event of the year!

It all goes down in Orlando, FL on April 2 and according to TMZ, the guys are already brainstorming ideas so they go down as the greatest WrestleMania hosts EVER ... a list that includes The Rock, Hulk Hogan, John Cena and Kim Kardashian (yes, she hosted in 2008).

"Our main goal is to have as much fun as possible because if were having fun, everybody's having fun!"

The host designation says a lot about how the WWE feels about The New Day. Yes, they love them as entertainment acts, but how seriously do they take them as wrestlers? Last year, the trio broke Demolition's record for longest reigning tag team champions in WWE history. Since dropping the titles, they have been stuck in a rut of cutting hilarious promos each week but having no real wrestling aspirations.

While it's great to see The New Day being put in a position of prominence at Mania, it's disheartening for them to not be involved in any type of actual wrestling angles. With so much talent in their stable, it would be nice to see them moved out of the comedy act realm and into a higher position on the card.
