WWE Superstar Jeff Hardy has tested positive for COVID-19. The former WWE Champion was scheduled to make an appearance at the recordBar venue in Kansas City following this week's edition of Monday Night Raw, but the venue announced the event's cancellation on Sunday via its Facebook page while confirming Hardy had tested positive. The post read, "We regret to inform you that the event with Jeff Hardy to take place on Monday July 26, 2021 at recordBar in Kansas City, MO will have to be postponed to a later date. Jeff Hardy just tested positive for covid this morning, and will have to quarantine for the next two weeks, and will not be participating in any live events for the next two weeks." WWE has not made an official comment on Hardy's status as of yet.

Hardy found himself in the news last week for two major reasons — the return of his "No More Words" theme song from the late 2000s and his two-minute victory over NXT Champion Karrion Kross on Monday Night Raw. Whatever storyline WWE was planning between Hardy and Kross will now have to wait.

Hardy confirmed last September that he had signed a new multi-year deal to continue working in WWE. A year prior Hardy found himself in legal trouble multiple times due to substance abuse but was assisted by the WWE into going into rehab.

"When I got pulled over October 3 of 2019, the day before I called WWE and said 'I need help. I need treatment. There's something wrong with me, like with this alcohol thing,' but yeah I've learned so much in recovery, just little things like one day at a time man, just focus on today, not drinking or not drugging and it's just calling my sponsor every day and talking to another alcoholic man," Hardy said while on After The Bell in April 2020. "There's something powerful about it when you admit what you are and you can like own that and just man, and there's a huge piece in my heart and my mind knowing that if I never drink again I'm never going to get into any other trouble. Jeff Hardy plus no drinking equals no trouble cause all my troubles came from either drugs or alcohol. And like with the alcohol, I can't drink like other people and I've surrendered and I've just manned up to that, you know and there's nothing wrong with it."
