Get ready Mission: Impossible fans. Ethan Hunt is coming back to the big screen. As if this was ever a real question. Tom Cruise is at the end of closing a deal to star in the sixth Mission: Impossible installment.

The welcomed installment took a while to lock in since there has been a lot of studio holdup regarding backend profit participation, as Paramount is co-financing with Skydance. The original projected start date was January 2017, but the studio put it on hold. It seems now that things are back on track. Sources are telling THR that spring 2017 is the new start date for production.

Christopher McQuarrie, the writer/director who breathed new life into the franchise, penned the screenplay and will also direct.

The Mission: Impossible franchise is like a nice bottle of red wine that only gets better with time. The first film was good, but could have been much better in terms of pacing. All we can say about the second film is John Woo and doves - that's that. And from M:I3 on we had some genuinely well made action films that only got better with each movie, both in plotting and action sequences.

So yes, we are ready for M:I6 to start production so we can see what insane stunt is coming next.

Are you ready for another Mission: Impossible movie?
