Brad Pitt Investigated For Alleged Child Abuse

In the midst of the Brangelina split, it has been learned that Brad Pitt is being investigated for an allegedly abusive episode with one of their children, which happened on the couple's private plane.

A witness reported that the father of six got "verbally abusive" and "physical" with one of their children, according to PEOPLE. He was reportedly inebriated.

The Los Angeles Police Department and L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services are investigating the incident, which happened last Wednesday, a day before Angelina Jolie listed as the date of separation on the divorce filing.

"He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children," a source said. "It's unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light."

Jolie filed for the divorce and has requested sole physical custody of their children – Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8.

In a statement about the surprise divorce filing, Pitt said his main concern is the well-being of their kids.

"I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids," he said in the statement. "I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time."

Update (10:56 a.m.): The LAPD tell The Hollywood Reporter they "have no investigation involving Mr. Pitt."
