Shortly after Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez was killed in a boating accident, there was a mysterious black bag that one individual found when it washed up on shore about a mile north of the crash.

The contents of the bag had everyone shocked. It was filled with baseballs signed by the late star athlete. The authorities are unaware of where the bag came from, or to whom it belonged. However, these were undoubtedly the last baseballs ever signed by Fernandez.

Twitter user Rosh Lowe tweeted a picture of the signed baseballs with the caption: "New - A bag full of signed baseballs by Jose Fernandez washes ashore on Miami Beach - 20 blocks north of crash. Watch my story at 6 pm @wsvn."

Chief Vincent Canosa from the Ocean Rescue Division has confirmed the findings. Apparently the bag belonged to one of Fernandez's friends, either Eduardo Rivera or Emilio Macias.

Investigators are still working to piece together the 24-year-old's last hours. As of now, they believe the threesome left the bar soon after a group photo was taken and hit the water. The boat they were on then crashed into a jetty at full speed, which caused it to flip up onto the rocks killing all three men.

Fernandez was a remarkable talent, and is definitely gone too soon. Our thoughts and sympathies remain with the family through this tragedy.

How do you think the person who found the bag reacted when they realized it was full of baseballs signed by Jose Fernandez?
