Arrested Development Season Five Still In The Works

It's been a while since audiences last saw the Bluth family, but Netflix assures that Arrested Development will return…eventually.
Speaking at the Television Critics Association press tour this week, Netflix's Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos offered an update on Arrested Development's upcoming fifth season, which is still a work-in-progress. While Netflix is obviously eager to produce another installment of Arrested Development, following the Netflix Original Season 4 in 2013, Sarandos said that the studio has to navigate around each actor's complex schedule.
"We are plugging along," Sarandos said. "It's a very long complex deal to make for these guys both because the talent is very busy and working on other shows, but also because the show is owned by Fox… It is our intent to have a new season of Arrested Development. All the negotiations are underway."
If a fifth season ever does get off the ground, it would likely revolve around the mysterious murder of Lucille 2 at the end of season four. As series star Jessica Walter revealed to Entertainment Weekly, Buster Bluth would be a prime suspect in the murder case, but no one would know for certain.
