The Dark Knight trilogy is one of the most iconic sagas in film history and one which revolutionized the super hero genre.

Toys, memorabilia, and collectibles from the Christopher Nolan directed franchise come in just about all forms possible but none can quite match the quality of a Hot Toys collectible. Our friends at Sideshow Collectibles sent us the John Blake and Bat-Signal Hot Toys collectible figure to open up and share, so let's dive in.

Packaging: The figure comes in a sleek black box as most Hot Toys figures I've had to pleasure to experience. On the front side, a high quality image of the John Blake figure standing in front of the Bat-Signal is printed in a nostalgic sepia tone. Once opened, the Bat-Signal will be seen imprinted on clouds on a cardboard buffer inside the box, much like it was seen on posters for The Dark Knight Rises. Of course, this is all before getting to the packaged-for-display figure and accompanying Bat-Signal. The figure is wrapped in plastic with its extras spread in an organized manner but if folks want to display this one in its box, they'll probably want to take off the protective plastic wrapping around the Blake figure's head, hands, and feet.

Aesthetics: The John Blake figure has an immense amount of detail. The face is impeccably detailed to that of Joseph Gordon-Levitt who played the young cop in Nolan's Batman conclusion but more than that, the outfit he is suited with is incredible. The GCPD logos are stamped on his shoulders and collar, a police radio hangs from his removable utility belt and connects to his shoulder on a stretchable cord, and it even comes with extra buttons. In addition, the figure comes with five interchangeable hands for different poses and grips, including an extended trigger finger ready to aim and some fists ready to brawl.

The show-stealer here, though, is the Bat-Signal. Running on three not-included AAA batteries, the Signal is powerful. The projector itself looks fantastic but what really leaves a mark is the signal it can create on your ceiling or wall. It's a crystal clear Bat-Signal which seems like it could actually attract Gotham's vigilante. The Bat-Signal alone makes the John Blake and Bat-Signal collectible a must for hardcore Dark Knight fans.

Poseability: The John Blake figure is flexible in all of it's joints. The wrists, elbows, knees, ankles, etc... With interchangeable hands and a handful of accessories to boot, John Blake is ready for action (or display). The extras include handcuffs, a gun, two magazines, a police radio and a removable utility belt to store each of them. Paired with the light of the Bat-Signal, the John Blake figure is one of the most detailed and surprising figures Hot Toys has to offer.

Overall Value: At $279.99, the John Blake and Bat-Signal comes in a little steep. As mentioned, the figure is masterfully detailed and the Bat-Signal is a must have but for almost $300, buyers must be hardcore Gordon-Levitt or John Blake fans. If this figure came with Bale as Bruce Wayne or Batman paired with the epic Bat-Signal it would be a no-brainer but this one is for true fans of JGL and the secret Robin character of the Dark Knight trilogy.
