Margot Robbie's schedule keeps filling up. Deadline is reporting the Suicide Squad actress will start in an adaptation of the Matt Ruff novel Bad Monkeys. Robbie will play a woman arrested for murder who claims she's part of a secret organization that fights evil. Robbie's character gets admitted into a psychiatric ward, where her story (and sanity) is called into question.
Universal Studios will produce the movie alongside Robbie's LuckyChap Entertainment production company.
Robbie most recently starred in The Legend of Tarzan and will appear in Suicide Squad later this summer. She's also rumored to reprise her role as Harley Quinn in a second DC movie alongside several other female DC superheroes.
Bad Monkey is one of Matt Ruff's better known novels and won several awards, including the Washington State Book Award for fiction. His most recent book Lovecraft Country is a critical look at the racist undertones in HP Lovecraft's science fiction.
