Capcom recently showed off its vision for the future of Resident Evil in their Resident Evil 7 VR experience, but the publisher is also reminding current console owners of the franchises' rich history with the release of Resident Evil 4.

The updated game is coming to both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and will include all the DLC of previous releases (via Capcom Unity). Updates like Ada Wong's new side story, which fills n some of the storyline gaps in Leon's main campaign. It also features an updated Mercenaries mode, which you can unlock after your initial playthrough of the story. You'll also have access to new game plus additions like a Knights Armor costume for Ashley and weapons like the Chicago Typewriter, and powerful Tommy Gun that Leon can wield.

The Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions of the Capcom classic will be available for download on August 30th. You can see some of the updated screenshots for the game in the gallery.

This is the latest in a long line of re-releases for the franchise, with both the original Resident Evil and Resident Evil 0 both being recent recipients of an upgraded remaster. Capcom is also hard at work on a Resident Evil 2 remaster, but not much other information is known about that project at this time.
