Sela Ward Cast As President In Independence Day 2

Sela Ward has been cast as the President of the United States in Independence Day 2.

As President Lanford, Ward will be reunited with Independence Day 2 director Roland Emmerich. The two worked together previously on The Day After Tomorrow. Ward also appeared in Gone Girl, and one television in CSI: NY.

Ward joins a cast consisting of returning cast members Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman and Vivica A. Fox, and fellow newcomers Liam Hemsworth and Charlotte Gainsbourg.

Independence Day 2 is looking to begin production in May, and is scheduled for release on June 24, 2016.
