Star Wars: Rogue One Casts Diego Luna In A Lead Role

Diego Luna has nabbed a lead role in the forthcoming Star Wars: Rogue One from director Gareth Edwards, Variety reports.
He'll join Felicity Jones in the film, which will see a group of Rebels working together to steal the plans for the first Death Star. Those plans, of course, eventually ended up in the hands of Princess Leia and then R2-D2 in the original Star Wars.
Jones, Luna and Riz Ahmed are reported to be playing the main Rebels, while Riz Ahmed plays the film's villain.
The film will take place between Episode III and Episode IV in the universe's chronology, but obviously closer to "A New Hope."
Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One will be in theaters on December 16, 2016.
