Film composer John Ottman has officially signed on for 20th Century Fox's upcoming comic book movie, X-Men: Apocalypse, according to filmmusicreporter.com.

This should really come as no surprise as X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer has collaborated wtih Ottman on many of his films, like The Usual Suspects, Apt Pupil, X2: X-Men United, Superman Returns, Valkyrie, Jack the Giant Slayer and X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Personally, I think Ottman's X-Men: Days of Future Past score was his best in years. I liked that he resurrected his X-Men 2 theme and blended it into the more synthesizer driven score.

X-Men: Apocalypse will open in theaters May 27, 2016
