Zootopia Wins Friday With Nearly $20 Million Opening Day

Disney looks like it has a hit on its hands with Zootopia if Friday's numbers are to be believed.
The family-friendly picture about Officer Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) attempting to solve a missing persons case, that turns into something much bigger, has had a massive Friday. The film pulled in nearly $20 million dollars, and if people keep pouring into theatres, it could hit an estimated $70 to $78 million for the weekend.
The G rated film has already earned $91 million internationally, and domestically, as long as it hits $70.2 million it will eclipse The Lorax for biggest opening for an animated movie in March. If it can exceed those lofty numbers, it could end up ranking third all-time passing Oz The Great And Powerful.
