Aquaman: New Set Photo Sees Mera Running From Atlantean Soldiers

Aquaman is wrapping up production down in Australia, but the project still has plenty of action scenes to shoot. Over on Reddit, a new set photo of one high-stakes chase scene is making the rounds, and it appears to show Mera being hounded by some armed Atlantean soldiers.

Reddit user atomiclungs shared the blurry photos online, and fans are already buzzing over the images. As fans can see, the pictures show a women with bright red hair running across some rooftops while two men pursue her. The image is not clear enough to make out who the woman is exactly, but her hair color all but confirms she is Mera. The heroine is shown wearing civilian clothes instead of her usual green bodysuit, and the men chasing Mera look to be Atlantean soldiers.

The assailants are dressed head-to-toe in armor, and they are to have weapons in their hands. From just a glance, it looks like the weapons are some sort of harpoon mechanism, so Mera will want to watch her back as she makes her daring escape.

Details about Aquaman have been kept quiet during its production, so there is no telling why Mera is being chased. If she is being followed by Atlantean soldiers, there is a chance the warriors are part of Orm the Ocean Master's army.

After all, footage of the movie was shown at San Diego Comic Con last month, and it featured the villain's fearsome crew. Aquaman was seen trying to reason with the shark-riding Atlanteans before he was wrangled into a battle, so Ocean Master's crew might be after Mera in the hero's standalone. For now, fans will have to wait and see how Aquaman is set up after Justice League drops in November. The ensemble flick will see Aquaman and Mera make their DCEU debuts with the feature film.
