'Arrow' Actress Doesn't Think Black Canary and Diggle Will Have Romance

Despite what fans might think they see in promotional materials, Arrow actress Juliana Harkavy is pretty sure Dinah Drake and John Diggle will remain just friends.

Diggle is married, but that has not stopped fans from speculating that he and the new Black Canary might hook up romantically at some point in Arrow season 6. In an interview with ComicBook.com, Harkavy -- who shares quite a bit of screen time with Diggle actor David Ramsey in tonight's episode -- said she didn't believe that was in the cards.

"Building that relationship has been one of my favorite things about this season," Harkavy told ComicBook.com. "I know there's a lot of speculation as to what that relationship is. To me, I think it's really a very deep friendship. I think Dinah finds a kindred spirit in Diggle and cares for him a lot. Once she can open herself up to somebody, if you are in her heart, you're in. And I think seeing Diggle compromised, it's really opened her up as a person and as a character and let her show some of her vulnerability. I really love what they've given to Dinah and Diggle."

In the season premiere, Diggle seemed to have lost his nerve, or perhaps was suffering from PTSD, and was missing (or refusing to take) shots when fighting with bad guys. Canary was the one who noticed the most.

Arrow airs on Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
