Arrow: Manu Bennett Denies Return As Deathstroke

Arrow fans, it looks like things may not be what they appear. When news broke this week that Manu Bennett would be returning to the show as Deathstroke, audiences were eager to see how the actor would bring the villain back. There were few details about the return available, but fans were simply happy to hear about Bennett's involvement from Stephen Amell. However, if the former actor is to be believed, then Bennett may not have much of anything to do with Arrow and its season five finale.

Over on Twitter, the actor has cast doubt on his return to Arrow, and fans are a bit confused. Bennett took time to respond to the tweet Amell sent out about the actor making a return. Bennet wrote, "WTF?????" before adding, "For the record - I'm not going back for Arrow!"

At first, fans felt the comments were a simple misdirect, but Bennett has not let up on the denials. The actor went so far as to prove how he couldn't be filming Arrow because of his current work in New Zealand.

"Enough b.s. about d.s!!!" Bennet wrote on Twitter. "FACT: Deathstroke #Arrow are currently filming in Vancouver is NOT ME. I am in Auckland filming," he finished. The actor is currently working on the Shannara Chronicles abroad.

Of course, there is still a chance that Bennett is trolling his followers about his future on Arrow. It is true the show is filming Deathstroke scenes now, but Bennett may come in at a later date to film scenes of the villain unmasked.

Right now, there is no official word on how Deathstroke will fit back into Arrow when he reappears, but fans have a hunch. Instead of coming back as a baddie, fans think Deathstroke may have to form an uneasy alliance with Oliver Queen. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Wendy Mericle said Oliver Queen would team up with one very unexpected person to take down Prometheus for good.

"The alliances are going to be very surprising. You're not going to believe who Oliver is working with to defeat Prometheus. It's going to be really emotional. It's going to be all about Oliver's family, but not the family we're thinking of right now," she said. "It's going to end in a giant explosion, but not where we think it's going to end, and the emotional punch is going to be bigger than the actual physical part of the bombs going off."
