Henry Cavill Celebrates Batman Day With Adorable Instagram Post

09/23/2017 01:34 pm EDT

Henry Cavill might have fought against Batman on the big screen, but he isn't afraid to show his support for the DC Comics hero.

Cavill, who plays Clark Kent/Superman in the DC Extended Universe, creatively joined in on the annual Batman Day celebration earlier today. The actor posted a picture of his dog, Kal, in silhouette, making his ears resemble Batman's cowl.

Cavill is no stranger to poking fun at his pointy-eared costar (played by Ben Affleck in the DCEU), using his Instagram account to troll Batman quite a bit. But in the end, Cavill definitely has an admiration for DC's caped crusader, even geeking out when initially seeing him on the set of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

"I have trouble not geeking out," Cavill revealed last year. "I was geeking out so much - trying to be cool at the same time, obviously – that I forgot that I was dressed in the Superman costume. I was like, 'Oh, that's Batman over there, that's so awesome!' Then, of course, I looked at the monitor, and I remembered that I was the guy next to him."

Fans can see the pair onscreen next when Justice League opens in theaters on November 17, 2017.
