Brandon Routh Shares New Look At Ray Palmer In Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2

Looks like Ray Palmer is going on some interesting adventures without the Atom power-suit in Legends of Tomorrow Season 2. Legends star Brandon Routh has revealed a new photo of Palmer looking like he's off the grid entirely.

"Ray Palmer isn't stranded on Lian Yu, but I think this wig/beard rivals Olver Queen's 'lost at sea' look," Routh writes in an Instagram post, referring to the original of Green Arrow in Arrow, the show where he first appeared as Palmer. "The Stick was an impromptu addition to the scene. Find out where Ray is in Season 2 of Legends of Tomorrow Oct. 13."

Legends of Tomorrow is a time travel show, so there's any number of explanations for Ray Palmer's rough appearance. Given the length of that beard, it seems like he's been living off of the land for some time. Perhaps a mission sends the Legends team back in time and Palmer ends up left behind and forced to survive in the wild.

Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 will find the team looking for a new purpose now that Vandal Savage, the Season 1 villain, has been defeated. The season is also set to be the live-action television debut of the Justice Society of America, DC Comics' senior superhero team, including Dr. Mid-Nite, Stargirl, Commander Steel, and Vixen, as well as the villainous Legion of Doom, made up of Reverse-Flash, Merlyn, Damien Darhk, and Captain Cold.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 premieres Thursday, Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
