It was recently announced that Vampire Diaries alum Chris Wood was cast in CW's Supergirl series as a surprise role, but details have been vague at best. It was said that his role is an established character and somebody close to Supergirl's mythos.
So for fans who have been following the television series and don't want to know who Wood is playing, you might want to jump in your own space pod for now and zoom away. Now this isn't confirmed by any means, but just to take precaution for all the Supergirl loyalists who want to remain unspoiled, you should avoid this.
Okay. Ready?
So, at the end of the first season, Kara discovered an empty Kryptonian pod with its inhabitant unrevealed and on the loose. Bleeding Cool is reporting from a "reliable source" that Wood's role is the person that escape the flaming wreckage. That character?
Mon-El.
According to the comics, Mon-El was sent to Earth on a similar craft that Kal-El arrived on. Originally, he was revealed to be Kryptonian as well, but in actuality was a Daxamite. He served in the Legion of Super-Heroes as well, which could be a gateway for those sort of cameos down the line.
It's also reported that the announcement on Wood's confirmation as Mon-El could happen during the Supergirl panel at San Diego Comic Con later today.
